“A mini tracker?” Impressed, Stefan gave her a thumbs-up.” That’s pretty amazing-l didn’t even know you did it. You’re better than those secret agents in the movies.”
“Of course! I’m better than them, so you’d better appreciate me. Treat me badly and you’ll suffer the consequences,” Renee said smugly.
“I wouldn’t dare. I’ll be loyal to you for the rest of my life.”
“That’s more like it! Good boy.” Renee patted his head indulgently and muttered, “It’s freezing. Hurry up and carry me to bed. I want to sleep.” After spending a few days together, she had gotten used to hugging him in bed. It was probably the reason why she couldn’t sleep, and so she had sought him out.
“Come here. I’ve warmed the bed for you,” Stefan said gently and led her to bed. It was the best thing in the world to have a warm bed on a cold night.
Renee curled up on her side while Stefan hugged her from behind. She felt safe and warm in his arms, and after a while, she started to feel sleepy.
However, Stefan’s mind became more active as he held her. After a while of thinking, he asked, “Do you think it’s bad of us to break up those two childish people, dear?” He was referring to Xavier and Leia, and what had happened earlier. Logically speaking, it was just a small argument, but it had
become more serious after Renee and Stefan meddled in it. Xavier and Leia had been forced into an ultimatum, and if they kept being stubborn, they would miss the chance to be with each other.
“Well, I guess they have to learn the hard way. They’ve been in a relationship of sorts for more than a year now, but there was no progress at all.
Both of them are hurting, and a little push might help them in the right direction. If they can’t be together, they can find more suitable partners. Isn’t that better? If they do manage to work it out, they’ll have a happy ending… like us.” Renee closed her eyes and hugged his arms as she spoke.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Stefan smiled proudly and hugged Renee tightly.
“Look at us-isnt this nice? We’ve been through a lot of hardships, but they haven’t. They should take this opportunity to learn something.”
Both Renee and Stefan were positive people; even though they had experienced a lot of bad things, they still cherished those memories. Those times were a precious part of their lives.
Yawning, Renee asked, “What about Hunt Enterprise? Did Jovan try anything?”
“Well, it’s stable for now. If he wants to take my position, I’ll let him, but he has to be capable enough to do it,” Stefan’s gaze turned cold as he muttered. He made light of the matter, but it actually worried him. Jovan didn’t just want to take Stefan’s position-he wanted to replace him. Jovan wanted power in Hunt Enterprise, and he also wanted to be the leader of their family. Timothy was heading the Hunt family, but his health was getting worse, and his consciousness was muddled. Jovan had used some tricks to make Timothy favor him more, and Timothy would sometimes chat with Jovan for a whole afternoon, banning anyone from entering the room. Honestly, it had been a long time since Timothy had chatted with Stefan.
