In the end, Matthew did not take April away out of respect for Dr. Harrington’s words.
“You can’t even deal with the person who hurt her. Do you want her to be hurt again by taking her away?”
After the incident happened, Sylvia ran away immediately. Matthew was so focused on April that he didn’t pay attention to Sylvia and wherever it was she hid in.
However, Dr. Harrington’s reminder brought him back to his senses. The hatred and anger in his heart rose instantly like a water coming to a boil. He put down April’s body and went out to begin dealing with the aftermath. At that point, he didn’t care about anything anymore other than that Sylvia had to be hunted down.
Just like that, April was left lying in Dr. Harrington’s hospital, and patiently waiting for the funeral.
Because of her best friend’s death, Jane suffered from a serious illness and couldn’t function normally. All the funeral arrangements were personally arranged by Dr. Harrington.
Jane only showed up at the funeral. Due of April’s special status, not many people came to pay their respects, so it wasn’t exactly unexpected that it looked to be deserted.
April passed away so quietly and so suddenly that Jane drowned in grief and didn’t recover for a long
time.
She didn’t even ask much about how Matthew would deal with Sylvia after all of this.
After the funeral, Dr. Harrington also quietly left Silverbourne.
Jane only found out about the doctor’s departure from Drake. He guessed that Dr. Harrington was too sad, so he wanted to leave Silverbourne to get some air.
Half a month had passed since that incident before Jane recovered a little from the pain and sorrow. Still, she was miserable the whole day.
“Mommy, today is Children’s Day. Can you take us out to play?”
Jane’s condition was not very good, and the three little guys also noticed it. They were worried about their Mommy, so they wanted to find an excuse to take her out to relax.
Hearing the pleas of the three little guys, Jane snapped out of her daze, looked at the three children, and said softly.
“Okay. Mommy will take you out to play. Where do you want to go?” Jane didn’t refuse nor did she want to let them down. She knew that she had neglected the three little guys during this time, so she wanted to make up for it.
“Mommy, we want to go to Berlin,” Zac said enthusiastically.
“To the capital?” Jane murmured.
“Well, there was a project in Daddy’s company a few years ago, and they opened a luxury amusement park in Berlin. I heard Daddy call yesterday to say that the project has been completed, and it is scheduled to open for Children’s Day. We all want to go and play.” Zac explained with some excitement.
Jane also knew about this project. Hearing the anticipation in Zac’s voice, and seeing Zane and

Zoe’s expectant gaze, it seemed like they really looked forward to it. She immediately agreed to go as a result.
Because of time constraints, Jane called Drake and flew directly to Berlin by helicopter.
Since Drake learned that several of them were going to the amusement park in Berlin, he didn’t stop him. Thinking back to how miserable Jane had been these past few weeks, he decided that it was good for her to get some fresh air.
Unfortunately, he still had work on hand so he couldn’t go with them. In the end, he hired a special escort to accompany and also protect them along the way.
They finally arrived in Berlin in the afternoon, and the helicopter landed in a private villa. After getting off, their designated guard and escort came to pick them up.
Jane knew all about what Drake arranged, so she followed the person who picked them up to the villa to rest. They would have to wait until tomorrow before she could take the children to the
amusement park.
When she came to the capital, Jane thought of her senior who called last time. Well, Adam had not been able to help Drake solve the matter last time.
However, Jane still wanted to maintain their relationship, so she called him.
“How
Adam. I’m in Berlin right now. I want to invite you to dinner. Are you free?”
Adam was pleasantly surprised when he received Jane’s call and immediately agreed.
“Since my junior is good–naturedly inviting me, then of course, I’m free.”
After setting the time and the restaurant, Jane packed up and was ready to go out.
Seeing that their mother was going out, the three little guys also wanted to follow. Jane thought about it and found no problem, so she took them along.
Jane was not very familiar with the capital. The restaurant was reserved by Adam, and all that was left was to pay the bill when the time comes.
The restaurant was in the most luxurious and lively place in the center of Berlin. After Jane and the others arrived, they entered the private room under the guidance of the waiter.
Unbeknownst to them all, just after they entered the box, a pair of eyes not far away kept on staring at her slender back. The look was sinister, and there were even hints of resentment in them.
“What are you looking at, Adolf?”
A young man dressed luxuriously looked at where Adolf was looking at, but there was no one there.
Adolf came back to his senses when he heard the question. Immediately, he suppressed the hatred in his eyes.
“It’s nothing.”
After Friedrich was dismissed, the father and son returned to the capital. The two of them came back as disappointments that they were given a proper lecture by their old man.
It couldn’t be helped that there were many people in their family, and Adolf and his father were just one of them. They were not really valued at all. Finally, the family found them a good job as the mayor of Silverbourne City, but in the end, they lost it by themselves. Understandably, the old man

However, this was nothing compared to the ridicule they got from their other relatives and some of the people who were hostile at odds with the Schmidt family.
Adolf had not been well during all these, and today, he finally came out with a friend to have dinner with the son of a big shot. He expected to have a good night after this, but he didn’t expect to see Jane again, and the hatred in his heart rose.
“Adolf, the person who will sit with us here today is the son of a big man. As per the norm, it’s not unusual that we’ll have to curry favor with him, but I can’t get along with him. It’s all thanks to another friend that I managed to secure a connection with him.”
“If you can build a good relationship with him at the dinner table later, it will definitely benefit you in the future,” Adolf’s friend told him from the side.
Adolf nodded, but he felt very uncomfortable in his heart. He hated doing this kind of thing the most. He had too much pride to lick someone else’s boots, but for the sake of revenge, he could only swallow his arrogance.
While speaking, Adolf glanced at Jane’s area again before following his friend into another VIP area.
Jane waited for a while before Adam arrived. He was dressed casually but still handsomely.
Different from Drake’s handsome face which was in a sharp, bad boy kind of way, Adam’s beauty was on the elegant side. Looking at him was like bathing in the spring breeze, making anyone feel a kind of calmness as though they had seen a fairy.
Zane and Zoe had met Adam, although not too many times. Zac, on the other hand, was not familiar with him. So when the little boy saw Adam, alarm bells rang in his heart, and his small eyes were
fixed on him.
This man was too dangerous! He was completely different from his Daddy, but they shared one thing in common which was attracting women’s attention.
Zac’s small eyes kept staring at Adam, which also caught the older man’s attention.
His eyes fell on Zac with slight surprise, then he smiled and spoke to Jane.
“Where did you get another little carrot head from?”
