Chapter 814
“Are you kidding? How could it be Chuck?”
“Yes, it couldn’t be him. He can’t even compare to us. He wouldn’t dare to lure the bear away. I don’t believe it was him!”
“I don’t believe it either! I don’t think Chuck is willing to risk his life to save Tessa. It’s impossible!”
“Well, I’m just saying, of course it’s not Chuck. But only Chuck could do that though. There’s no one else here other than him. Tessa, what do you think? Did you see who it was?” The three girls asked.
Liliana sneered with a smile. Chuck? What a joke! How could it be him? He only knew how to use petty tricks! It was impossible that he would do such a good deed of sacrificing his own life for others.
Tessa shook her head, “I didn’t see who it was, but I’m sure that it’s definitely not Chuck!” She said with a determined tone!
“Who else could it be then? We were the only ones here to train, right Coach? Is there anyone else here?”
“This place belongs to the Wolfen Sect so there must be someone else in this mountain as well. It could not be Chuck!” Liliana said coldly.
“That’s right! I’m sure it’s not him!” Tessa breathed a sigh of relief.
“Who knows where he’s hiding now? He’s just a coward who likes to lie!”
“That’s enough. A mere bear had scared you girls so much. How are you girls going to compete among the freshmen the day after tomorrow?” Liliana was angry. These four women knew how to fight. They could have surrounded and attacked the bear to save themselves! How could they just scream and run away?
Liliana was speechless and extremely disappointed. With their current capabilities, how could they bring honor to her in the competition? There was no hope left for these four women, much less for Chuck.
Sigh! This time, she was bound to be embarrassed.
“Coach…” Tessa was still in shock. Tessa felt wronged after hearing what Liliana said.
“Don’t call me ‘Coach’. There were so many of you here, but all you guys did was run away when you got chased by a bear. What is this? You all need to get back to training now!” Liliana said coldly as she went to find a place to rest.
“Tessa, did you really not see the person who saved you?”
“No, he was running really fast when he lured the bear away!” Tessa’s beautiful eyes flickered. When she was in despair, someone suddenly appeared to save her. She wanted to know who the person was!
“That’s noble of him. He did not even leave his name after rescuing you.”
“I think it must be a handsome man!”
“Whether that guy is handsome or not, I’m very certain that he’s not Chuck,” Tessa said.
“That’s right! Well, let’s get back to training first! We shouldn’t waste anymore time. This is a rare opportunity to train!” The girls became bolder. At the very least, after the shocking incident moments ago, they had become more confident! The training was effective. After the incident with the bear, their potentials were activated. Tessa and the other girls continued training.
As for Chuck, he was too lazy at the moment to fight with the bear head-on so he lured the bear away. It was apparent that the speed of the bear was far slower than Chuck’s. He did not even run with all his strength, but he had already left the bear far behind!
There was a good reason why Chuck saved Tessa. It was not because she was beautiful, but because of her sacrificial action. She lured the bear away to save the three other girls. This action told Chuck that Tessa was not a bad person. At the very least, she had some humanity! In times of danger, who would be able to do such a thing? Therefore, it was a good enough reason for Chuck to save her life.
Perhaps that was Chuck’s soft spot. There was nothing to lose other than breaking a sweat anyway. What’s more, if Chuck really had fought with the bear, all he had to do was to use the dagger that Sophia gave him and the bear would not even stand a chance to hurt him.
Chuck continued to go deeper into the forest. He was intrigued by the unknown danger. This was what he liked. Chuck liked to take risks in places like this! It was when a person was constantly exposed to dangers that one’s sensitivity towards their surroundings would be improved tremendously. With his experience in the Amazon the last time, Chuck knew how to find food and where to seek shelter. And like that, he made it out safely through the night.
During the morning of the next day, Chuck was about to leave. Chuck was not interested to know Tessa and the other girl’s conditions. He needed to leave this place, go back and have a good rest. He needed to prepare and rest up for the competition. After spending the night in the woods, Chuck could feel that some of his skills were enhanced. It was enough.
“Roar!” All of a sudden, Chuck heard a loud roar! Chuck was stunned for a while, before he walked towards the direction where the sound was coming from. He discovered that two huge black bears were surrounding a woman. One of the bears had a bloody chest injury and the other was injured too.
However, the woman who was surrounded was enraged as well! It was Liliana! The two bears found her while she was asleep in the forest. Without a warning, they attacked her. Liliana was down on the ground and she could not get up. She was cornered.
Chuck smiled and thought to himself, “It’s finally her turn!” Chuck shrugged his shoulders and continued to watch the scene.
Liliana noticed that Chuck was there and her eyes burst with flaming anger! Chuck was watching her as if it was a show!
