Never Late, Never Away Chapter 2879

“If there’s nothing else, you can leave now.”

Leave? To where? To find Joan? Della snorted coldly. I’ll never let that b*tch off!

Now that Joan was out of Jake’s protection, she no longer needed to fear Jake’s power. Furthermore, Larry could not do much to her either.

She slowly walked over to the sofa and took a seat. One day, I’ll show everyone how I defeat Joan!

Larry glanced at the disappointed-looking woman sitting on the sofa but simply ignored her.

Meanwhile, Joan, who had just returned to the country, did not go home. Since she still could not remember Lucius and Delilah, she did not dare to face them. Instead, she moved into Abelyn’s villa.

“How have you been, Joan? Do you remember anything?” asked Abelyn carefully as she stared at her anxiously.

Joan met her eyes and smiled awkwardly, then shook her head. It’s already been so long, but I still haven’t recalled anything.

“There’s no hurry. Don’t worry. You’ll recover your memories soon,” Dustin comforted as he handed her a banana.

Really? Joan looked out the window as a trace of guilt flashed across her eyes. Such a long time had passed, but she still had no impression of the people around her.

Suddenly, she hit her head hard, trying to force herself to recall something.

Dustin instantly ran over to pull her hands away, then gently rubbed her head. “Why’re you so silly? Hitting yourself won’t help you recall anything.”

“Yeah, don’t force yourself, Joan. We’ll wait. Don’t be too anxious,” said Abelyn anxiously as she grabbed her hand tightly.

No one was willing to see Joan get hurt, much less self-harm.

“Now that I’m in this state, do you guys hate me?” she asked in a shaky and low voice. She sounded unconfident and unsure of herself.

Silly girl! We all feel so heartbroken for her. Why would we hate her? Dustin lightly patted Joan on the shoulder. “As long as you’re safe and sound, it’s the greatest comfort for us.”

Upon hearing his words, she felt touched. Who am I to deserve so many people protecting me?

However, there was a weird feeling in Abelyn’s heart when she saw that scene. She shook her head, trying to compose herself.

“What are you saying! We’re all good friends. These are what friends are for.” She then nudged Joan and smiled, although there was some reluctance behind it.

Indeed, she was jealous.

However, Abelyn did not understand why she was jealous of Joan and Dustin. Dustin’s been my good friend all along. That didn’t change. Then, could it be that I’ve unknowingly fallen for him? No way!

Just then, Abelyn suddenly stood up and left.

What’s wrong with her? Why did she suddenly leave? Dustin looked curiously at her as she left.

“Have I disturbed the two of you?” Joan whispered.

Instantly, he snorted and said, “What on earth is going on in your mind? Abelyn and I are just good friends!” However, for some reason, he felt rather weird after saying those words.

Abelyn, who was then hiding in the room, had heard what he said in the living room. Her eyes slowly dimmed with sorrow. He’d always regarded me as a good friend. That has never changed.

She sighed, squeezing her clothes as a disappointed expression appeared on her face.

They clearly have some feelings for each other. Why’re they hiding it? Joan stared at Dustin as she pondered, feeling very puzzled.
