”Miss Whitlock! Eleanor has completed the task!” Adriana’s bodyguard was excited. After all, that was the best piece of news he had received recently. Ever since Karen hurt him last time, he wanted Karen dead. While he couldn’t do it himself, Eleanor had done it.
”Oh! Is her death confirmed?” Adriana sat up straight. The lazy expression she had been wearing vanished instantly. In its place was an excited look.

”She jumped into the river?” Adriana’s eyebrows furrowed together when she heard that.

Hearing that, Adriana was relieved. She was clear which river he was talking about. That river was so arduous that if anyone jumped down into it, they would die for sure. Considering Karen’s heavy injuries and her exhausted state, since she had jumped down, that must have turned into her final futile struggle for survival!
”Good job!” Adriana praised. Eleanor was indeed the top combat expert of the Whitlock family. Even Karen ended up dying at her hands. The recent event has proven so.

”Was it a clean job?” Adriana was still somewhat worried about that.

”Where is Chuck?” Adriana suddenly asked.
”He’s still dealing with his own business empire! But it’s not a big deal. It’s nothing to worry about!”
”I want to see him!” she cried.
”Miss Whitlock, do you want to tell him that his mother is dead?” the bodyguard enquired in a sadistic manner.
Adriana shot him a glance. ”No, how can I tell him something like this? He has to learn about this from someone else. I can’t even show up! I can only wait and see how he responds!”
”What kind of reaction would he have? Until now, Chuck has always relied on his mother. Without Karen, Chuck is nothing! Now that Karen is dead, Chuck has lost his main support. But now, Chuck still has you to rely on and you are much better than Karen!” He took Chuck lightly.
”Let’s go and pay Chuck a visit!” Adriana yelled as she walked out. The bodyguard followed closely behind her.

At the moment, Chadrick was looking at the map, studying the Cannon family’s location. It was part of his homework. However, Chadrick was not in the mood to look at it as he was restless.

Chadrick muttered to himself. He couldn’t understand why Karen’s phone was off. It had never happened before! He kept calling but it was to no avail. He stared at his phone. Just then, someone knocked on the door.
”Come in!”
”Mr. Cannon wants to see you!” A woman walked in.
”Grandpa? Didn’t we see each other earlier in the morning?” Chadrick muttered to himself. Nevertheless, he rose and followed the woman to see his grandfather. Grandpa was still in the dark room. The cloudiness of his eyes were apparent.
”What can I do for you, Grandpa?” Chadrick enquired.
”I want you to go to the country right away!”
”Go to the country? Didn’t you tell me not to go out recently?” Chadrick muttered to himself. The uneasiness in his heart was growing intense.
”Things have changed! I want you to find your son!”
”Okay!” Chadrick also wanted to see his son Chuck. After all, he hadn’t seen Chuck since the last time they met. Sometimes, he felt that he was invisible as he was not involved in Chuck’s affairs. It had always been Karen who handled it. Would Chuck feel like he was a stranger?
”Remember, I let you look for Karen. But I didn’t let you have a son together. Chuck is your pawn!”
”Grandpa, Chuck is my son! He’s not a pawn!” Chadrick shook his head and objected resolutely.
”Bastard! Chuck isn’t in the family registry! He’s just an outsider! An outsider is just a pawn that can be used at any time! I hope you can understand this!”
”Ah! I’ll go to the country!”

”The pawn I looked up to the most, Karen! I just received a message that Karen met a problem on the way to the technology company. She plunged into the river along with her car and drowned!” The head of the Cannon family, Osford, acted like he was talking about something trivial as he reported her demise.
