”There was someone? Did you see who it was?” The nonchalance on Adriana’s face melted away. In its place was a mask of seriousness. Adriana’s bodyguard was stunned by her reaction. So what if there had been someone? Why wasn’t she punishing Eleanor?
”I couldn’t see who it was clearly. Just as I was about to kill Willa, that person appeared suddenly and threw a boulder at me!”
”After I punched the stone to smithereens, Willa had already disappeared!” Eleanor informed her. Her beautiful gaze was cold as ice! Just as she was about to kill Willa and Black Rose, a person had suddenly appeared! Otherwise, Willa would have definitely died in that state!
”You didn’t see the person clearly at all?” Adriana asked coldly.
”I didn’t! I must say, the rock was thrown towards me really quickly!” Eleanor explained. That was right! The rock had come down on her too suddenly! After Eleanor had broken the stone, all she saw was a shadowy figure! That silhouette had taken Willa and Black Rose along with them. Eleanor had chased after the figure! Nonetheless, she had failed to catch up to them. It was something that had never happened to her before! It sent a chill down Adriana’s spine!
”Willa hasn’t even died after two attempts?” Adriana turned her beautiful eyes to Eleanor, fixing her cold glare on her. With a gloomy expression, she chided, ”Eleanor, this seems to be the first time that you’ve failed the mission. I must say, this is the first time you disappointed me!”
”Miss, I’m sorry!” Eleanor lowered her head. It was the confident Eleanor’s first time lowering her head in front of Adriana.
”This is my first time hearing you say you’re sorry. Remember, I don’t want to hear that ever again!” Adriana decided, her tone stony. Like a sharp fickle, her cold voice pierced straight into Eleanor’s heart!
Eleanor nodded. ”Yes, Miss!”
”What kind of person could take Willa away? Is there anyone in the world who can just carry a person away from right under your nose?” mused Adriana coldly.
The Whitlock family was the first hidden family. Therefore, their bodyguards were also the most skilled people in the world. That fact was absolute and irrefutable! However, they could not deny what had happened. Someone had stolen their hostages that had been guarded by the strongest bodyguard of the Whitlock family! How could that be possible? How could someone be stronger than Eleanor?
”I don’t know either!” Eleanor also found the whole incident strange. She had not even managed to see that person’s back! All she had seen was the sight of Willa and Black Rose being carried away!
”The only person in the world who can compete with you is Karen, but she’s already dead! Now, it seems like another Karen has appeared,” Adriana concluded.
”It’s possible that they’ve stowed some talented people away!” Eleanor replied.
A loud crash echoed in the room. Adriana had smashed a glass to pieces. ”Stowed some talented people away? Stowed them away? Who on earth dares to do that right under the nose of the first hidden family?” yelled Adriana. That was true. Who could do such a thing without being discovered by the first hidden family?
In the past hundreds of thousands of years, there were very few people who knew about the hidden families. After all, they had hidden themselves from the world. However, stowing hidden talents from the first family was an even greater feat! The Whitlock Family was the first hidden family and one-third of the world belonged to her family. Thus, how could there be anything that the Whitlock family did not know? There was nothing that went past their knowledge. How could there be talents undiscovered by the Whitlock Family?
”Yes, you’re correct! I was acting brash!” Eleanor acknowledged her mistake.
”This is definitely due to your carelessness. Eleanor, find and kill this person! I don’t want another Karen to appear as that would make me extremely unhappy!” ordered Adriana.
”Yes! Don’t worry, Miss! I too am very interested to meet such a person again!” At last, Eleanor smiled again, ”By the way, Willa was already on the verge of death. Even if she was saved, she won’t wake up for another few months or even a year!”
”That barely makes me feel a little happier! Eleanor, go and find that person!” commanded Adriana, flaxness finally reappearing on her face. ”By the way, do you have any suspects?” enquired Adriana. That question was directed at Eleanor.
Eleanor was silent for a few seconds before replying, ”I don’t think that I have any suspects in mind, but that person keeps on appearing and I find that to be really strange!”
”Fine, just take care of the matter well! Kill that person, Willa and Chadrick! Then, bring Yvette to me!!”
”Yes, Miss! Be rest assured that I’ll do my job well!” promised Eleanor. As she said that, she grinned faintly.
Adriana suddenly thought of something and shouted, ”Wait a minute!”
”Miss, do you have any other orders?”
”Are you sure that Karen is dead?” Adriana slowly asked.
Eleanor smiled faintly, ”I’m sure that she’s dead!”
”Then, what about the person who took Willa away?”
”It’s someone else!”
”Can you confirm that”
”Yes, I can! It has been less than ten days since Karen died. Even if she’s not dead, do you think that she can take Willa away from me with those injuries of hers?” affirmed Eleanor while maintaining the same smile on her face.
After a moment of silence, Adriana relented, “That’s right. Maybe I’m overthinking it. Karen must be dead…I’m just overthinking.”
”Well, I’ll get going then!”
”Eleanor, don’t let me down. I’m going to inherit the position of the head of the Whitlock family, so don’t upset me!” reminded Adriana. Nevertheless, there was another meaning laced within her words.
”Don’t worry about that!” assured Eleanor. Then, she left the room.
”Do you think that the person is Karen?” Adriana questioned her bodyguard again.
”Miss, you’re worrying too much. How could it be her? Eleanor just said that since Karen had been seriously injured, it’s impossible for her to take people away in that state,” Adriana’s bodyguard shook his head firmly. He refuted Adriana’s wild and imaginative idea.
”Yes, Karen has died. However, another person like her has appeared, so I hope Eleanor won’t let me down yet again!” Adriana lazily closed her beautiful eyes as if there would be good news after she woke up from her sleep.
