”Exactly! It means that you like him.” Nancy had dated before and that was how she had felt back then. She longed to see him to an overwhelming extent! She wanted nothing more than to see him! She would be flustered whenever she did not see him and she would feel comfortable and at ease when she saw him. Yolanda’s description matched that to it.
”Is that so?” Yolanda did not think so. This was her being concerned as a friend, right? ”Do I like Chuck?” Yolanda had never thought about him that way. The desire to meet him was a kind of feeling between a boss and his subordinate. There was no love involved.
”Absolutely! Do you feel disappointed at times because of Chuck?” Nancy asked.
”Sometimes.”
”Right. There’s no denying it, this is the feeling of love,” Nancy said with certainty.
Yolanda was stunned. Did that mean that she liked him? When did this feeling start? Yolanda wasn’t sure herself. It seemed that it had been set in motion ever since Chuck left the country for the United States. Yes, that was exactly when it started. ”Fine then, if you call it that. Be that as it may, if I am able to come out of this alive, I will not confess to Chuck.” This was Yolanda’s personality.
”You won’t?”
”Of course not. I’ll just keep it to myself. I have always regarded him as my boss. I am his subordinate, I can’t have a dual relationship, can I?”
”Then, if I am able to emerge from this alive, don’t tell Chuck about what I’ve just confessed,” Nancy said. It would be very embarrassing if Chuck knew about it! He probably wouldn’t allow her to work with him once this relationship was tainted. Nancy knew this very well.
”Alright then. We will just keep whatever we have just said to ourselves.” Yolanda agreed.
”Yeah.” Nancy was no longer in despair. She felt much more at ease now that she had expressed her inner feelings. As for the rest, she had to leave it to fate! If she really had to die, there was nothing she could do. Man proposes, God disposes!
”That psycho is coming. I’m scared!” Nancy was terrified.
Frieda assumed a cold smile on her face, carrying with it a mad-hatter feeling! She had been slapped more than ten times ever since she had been captured. Their faces would be disfigured if Frieda continued to slap them.
A loud sound rang in the air. Frieda slapped Nancy in the face. Nancy sobbed, ”Stop hitting me!”
Another piercing slap echoed across the room. Frieda slapped Yolanda on her face. Yolanda, ever the stubborn one, did not lower her head even after being slapped!
Frieda extended her arm once again. And slapped Yolanda hard. Yolanda still did not lower her head.
“If you have the guts, slap me to death!”
Frieda smiled slightly. “How could I bear to slap you to death? You must mean something to Chuck. Otherwise, why would he allow you to manage all the business? Let me ask you, are you not Chuck’s mistress? You really worked hard, huh!”
”No! I’m his subordinate!” Yolanda said stubbornly.
”Hah, just a subordinate?”
Yolanda suddenly thought back about her harrowing past. At that time, Chuck was not interested in her at all! Yolanda had misunderstood Chuck’s love for her. Chuck had never been interested in her at all! It hurt her when she found out the truth. If Chuck did not like her at that time, then he probably would not like her now!
Frieda’s anger was building. She kept on slapping Yolanda to vent her anger. Yolanda still refused to lower her head. Frieda continued to slap her. She kept on slapping until Yolanda’s lips started to bleed, her cheeks red and swollen. Another ear-splitting slap rang across the air. Yolanda coughed out a mouthful of blood after that last slap.
”Slap me to death if you dare!” Yolanda said coldly.
”Headstrong, aren’t you? With your character, if you have the chance to be a fighter, I’m sure you would excel in it. However, you won’t have the chance this time around. Because…”
All of a sudden. There was a commotion outside. Frieda raised her eyebrows. She stopped talking.
”Frieda, what are you doing?” Loomis smiled.
”Listen, I heard something outside! One of your men may have died!”
Loomis had a few men keeping watch on the outside. ”One down? That’s impossible. All of my men are experienced fighters! I did not even hear anything.” Loomis did not, indeed, hear anything. There was nothing he could do. He knew how to fight, but he was not good at it.
”I did hear something! Chuck is probably here!” Although Freida did not have much experience under her belt as a fighter, her senses told her that Chuck was here.
”No way. Isn’t Chuck in the United States?” Loomis smirked.
”You’re an idiot! What makes you think that he isn’t back in the country?” Frieda flashed out a sniper rifle in an instant!
Loomis was furious. Was Chuck really here?
”Chuck is here to save us!” Nancy cried with joy! This was their glimmer of hope!
”Yes, he’s here!” Yolanda felt at ease when she realized that Chuck was finally here! It was precisely this feeling. The feeling of being at ease whenever she was with Chuck. Chuck was the only one who could make her feel this way.
There was another clack outside. Frieda could hear it clearly. But Loomis still could not hear it. Frieda was furious. ”Come out, show yourself!!” She cocked the rifle towards the door. And positioned herself.
Finally, she placed her eye on the scope. Frieda pulled the trigger! ”Chuck, since you’re here, what are you hiding for? Come out this bloody instant!”
There was another clatter outside. Again, she could hear movements outside. There was about a ten-second interval between each clatter. It was too quick.
Loomis finally picked up on the movements outside. ”He’s here! Chuck is here! Where is he?”
”Shut up! Be quiet!” Frieda wanted to use her senses to determine Chuck’s location.
There was a clatter after another! One moment it was close by, the next moment, it could be heard somewhere else. The interval between the sounds was only a few seconds, the longest one lasting for about one minute! Why was it so quick?
Frieda was taken by surprise!
All of a sudden! A corpse fell to the ground! A shadow appeared, it was none other than Chuck! He was really here!
