”Chuck, do you think you can kill us? Do you think you can destroy the entire Cannon family?” Osford asked as his expression turned gloomy. Finally, he remembered that he was one of the heads of the Cannon family, which was one of the hidden families. The power of the Cannon family was greater than one could imagine. All Chuck had was Karen’s inheritance. How could he possibly destroy the Cannon family?
”You don’t have to worry about this.” Chuck shook his head and walked over indifferently.
”Humph, such a lowly kid is trying to make me suffer? Did you forget that I am the head of the family? Did you think it through? Do you know what is in my hand?” Osford produced a small remote control.
”A bomb? I know that you have planted a lot of bombs underneath.” Chuck shrugged as he spoke. Sabina was dumbfounded. How did Chuck know about that?
”That’s right. There are a lot of bombs planted right below us. These bombs are going to kill us all. So if you really force me, I’ll have no choice but to blow everyone up!” Osford had a sneer on his face.
Just then, Xandra began to cry. She was afraid of dying. ”Grandpa, I don’t want to die,” Xandra begged. However, she was cut off by a slap. Osford slapped her in the face. ”Shut up!”
Nonetheless, she continued to cry. Xandra’s cries filled the air. She had been raised delicately and pampered since she was young. She did not expect to die on that day! She didn’t want to.
”Chuck, you are still young. You have yet to avenge your mother’s death. So let us go, then we can call it a day. From this day onward, we will not interfere with each other’s business,” Osford uttered coldly.
However, Chuck remained indifferent. Meanwhile, Sabina didn’t react at all. She didn’t like being threatened.
”Chuck, are you not willing to avenge your mother’s death? How are you going to face your mother? She spent so must effort raising you but you can’t even avenge her!” Osford wore a confident smirk on his face. He knew Chuck’s weakness. Family affection was his flaw. After all, his father Chadrick was the same.
”I don’t need to explain myself, because I will avenge my mother,” Chuck replied stonily.
”If you are going to die with me, how are you going to avenge your mother? Do you need my reminder?” Osford still had a smirk on his face.
”I think you are mistaken. There are indeed a lot of bombs planted beneath us, but they can not be triggered.” Chuck shrugged.
Scoffing, Osford frowned. “Why not? Let’s give it a try!” He had installed the most advanced remote detonation system. How could it not work?
”Just press it,” Chuck answered nonchalantly.
”No, Grandpa, I don’t want to die!” Xandra pleaded fearfully.
”Idiot! That brat, Chuck, is trying to use reverse psychology on us!” Osford snarled angrily.
”Don’t do it. I don’t care if it’s reverse psychology. Don’t do it. Grandpa, I don’t want to die…” Xandra cried desperately.
Osford was deeply distressed. ”Chuck, don’t force me!” Osford was yelling and he was fuming in anger.
”You know that my mother has a technology company?” Chuck approached, step by step.
”What do you mean?”
”My mother‘s technology company has much research going on, such as developing medicine for cancer, future technology, future planes and future cars. Amongst our many inventions, we have something called a jammer. I can jam that remote control in your hand,” he explained.
”Bullshit! There is nothing that can jam this remote control!!” Osford roared in anger. What a joke! The Cannon family also had a technology company. Indeed, they also had developed the most advanced technology to date.
”But my mom’s technology company has developed one. If you don’t believe it then just press it. Don’t be afraid, because it won’t detonate.” Chuck smiled. He walked over slowly.
Betty was wise and experienced. She had already told Chuck that the Cannon family would use this method. Thus, they prepared the jamming device beforehand. All signals within a three-kilometer radius were jammed. Of course, that included the remote control in Osford’s hands.
Osford was furious. “Chuck, do you want to die? What? No, don’t do it!”
“No, no, I don’t want to die. Stop!” Xandra panicked.
Chuck snatched the remote out of his hand and pressed it in front of him. True enough, the bomb did not go off! In the forest, a jamming device beside Betty was beeping.
Sabina shrugged and heaved a sigh of relief. Chuck was more well-prepared than she was! Fortunately, it did not detonate.
“How is this possible?” Osford was stunned. He couldn’t help but tremble involuntarily. He was certain that the remote would blow all of them to pieces. However, it was useless. What could he do? There was nothing left that he could do. He had never expected such a thing to happen to him that day. He was a cunning old man. But that day, he failed miserably. Everything had been provided to him since young and he never lacked anything. However, at the moment, all of his subordinates had been wiped out. He had no one to command.
All of a sudden, it dawned on him how terrifying his situation was. There were no more of the Cannon family’s subordinates for him to command and the only one left for him to command was Xandra. As a result, he felt a hint of fear. There was nothing he could do.
Xandra felt as if she survived a catastrophe. She collapsed on the ground and cried, “I don’t want to die, I don’t want to! Grandpa, I don’t want to die! Tell him, tell him, tell him who I am!” Xandra was tugging on Osford’s shirt. ”Grandpa, tell him. Tell him everything and he will let us go!”
”What a fool. We’re going to have a worse death if we tell him the truth.” Osford fumed with anger.
”Grandpa, we’ll die if you don’t tell him!” Xandra cried desperately, feeling hopeless.
Osford sighed. He didn’t expect to be in such a situation that day. He had been outsmarted by a pawn! ”Alright then. Go ahead.” Osford lowered his head. Even if the truth was out, there was no way he could face Chuck.
”Whatever you guys say, you’re going to die today.” Chuck approached them icily. So what if she pleaded with him? Chuck was so indifferent. No matter what they said, Chuck would still end their lives. It was because if he left the two alive, there would be a ton of complications in the future.
They were part of the hidden family. As long as they survived, they would definitely retaliate like maniacs. Chuck would still need to kill Adriana. There would be no time for him to battle with the Cannon family. Therefore, he had to kill them to avoid future complications. It would be perfect to destroy them.
“No, wait, hear me out first! Chuck!” Xandra crawled to Chuck and begged him piteously. There was no other way if she wanted to live. The Cannon family was too wealthy. She didn’t want to die just like that.
Just then, Chuck grabbed her by the neck. Struggling in his grip, she screamed shrilly in fear, ”Don’t kill me, Chuck, Chuck! Listen to me, your last name is Cannon and my last name is also Cannon. I’m your aunt!”
