Everyone present was filled with astonishment.
”Chuck, what are you talking about? You will not?”
”What is he trying to do? Does he have the right to say that he will not?”
”This son of a b*tch is courting death! How dare he mess with Miss Whitlock?”
The entire Whitlock family was furious. The words that Chuck uttered were an utter humiliation to the Whitlock family. They were harsh slaps across their faces.
”So that’s how it is…” Sabina clenched her fists.
”Grandpa, does Chuck, the bastard, want to die? Will Adriana come and cause us trouble because of Chuck?” Xandra asked anxiously.
”He’s really a mischief maker.” Osford looked gloomy. He didn’t expect Chuck to actually refuse. ”Unless Chuck is trying to…” Osford was stunned as he watched the scene unfold. Everyone from the Whitlock family was furious because Chuck refused.
Meanwhile, Eleanor stared, her eyes blinking. A furious roar filled the room and Adriana’s expression changed drastically. Her smile disappeared. In its place was a flame of cold fury. She was livid. Extremely livid!
”Chuck, what did you say?”
”I said, I will not.” Chuck threw away the flowers in his hand and tore off the groom’s sign on his chest. He threw it away casually.
Adriana’s beautiful eyes were ice-cold. ”Say it again.”
”I am not willing! Are you hard of hearing? I can say it again. I will not marry you. Who do you think you are that I would want to marry you?” Chuck shook his head.
Adriana clenched her fists so tightly that the crack of her knuckles could be heard.
”Miss Whitlock, this kid doesn’t know what’s good for him. Let me kill him!”
”Oh my god, it’s so infuriating!”
”Chuck, are you courting death?”
All the people in the Whitlock family had gone mad. They were all exasperated. Killing intent pervaded the air. They were the number one family in the world! On such an important day, such a humiliation had happened all of a sudden, creating a dent on their ego.
”Chuck, I advise you to think about it before you speak again,” Eleanor said indifferently.
Chuck shrugged and took off his tailored suit.
”Chuck, let me ask you this, since you have agreed to marry me, why are you doing this now?” Adriana was practically shrieking at him.
”Why? Ask yourself.” In an instant, Chuck’s eyes turned extremely cold.
”Ask myself?” Her brows furrowed together.
Meanwhile, Eleanor’s eyes twitched.
”Yes, do you really think that I have no idea what is going on? You instructed Eleanor to assassinate my mother, Willa, Black Rose and my wife. Do you really think I don’t know that?” Chuck’s voice was hoarse.
Adriana suddenly chuckled. “Oh, so you knew? So you said no just to get your little revenge?”
”Yes, I will see to the complete undoing of your pride.” With that, Chuck undid his tie.
”Then all your efforts are in vain. Everyone in this hall is a member of the Whitlock family. Who would dare to laugh at me? Who would dare to judge me?” Adriana smirked. Her eyes swept across the audience. No one in the Whitlock family dared to laugh.
However, a light laugh suddenly broke the silence. The source of the sound was Sabina. ”Adriana, such a day has come when someone is rejecting you? There goes all your face,” Sabina said with a smile.
”Sabina, you want to die?” All of a sudden, Adriana’s expression turned livid.
”No. I’m not certain who is going to die today.” Sabina didn’t say much.
Adriana suddenly smirked again. “So both of you colluded with each other. Not bad… Chuck, I killed your mother, Willa and Black Rose. However, what can you do? Did you forget that this place belongs to me?”
”So you have not thought it through. However, I won’t hold a grudge against you. Just become my man and get on with the wedding. Or else I won’t spare your life. Decide!”
”I came here to avenge my mother. What do you think I would decide on?” Chuck’s eyes were cold and his scarlet red eyes were full of hatred. Within him was a burning hatred for Adriana. That woman was absolutely vicious.
”I’ll say it again, marry me or die! Don’t make the wrong choice!” Adriana’s anger reached its boiling point. No one in the Whitlock family had never seen Adriana so furious before. Adriana’s temper had finally revealed itself. That was right. She had come in hopes of marrying Chuck. Chuck was the first man she had ever fallen in love with. Therefore, she was reluctant to kill him.
”No.” Chuck shook his head.
”Then you choose to die? Chuck, you are so dumb. What can you do? You are all alone.” Adriana’s eyes were bloodshot. She was disappointed. She was utterly disappointed in Chuck.
”Alright, since you’re so heartless, then I won’t be emotional. Eleanor, grab him for me!” Adriana stepped back. A group of people rushed over. They protected Adriana. All the bodyguards of the Whitlock family came rushing over. Although Chuck did not have strength in numbers, he remained as stoic as ever.
”Chuck, you are so stupid. If your mother was here, you might still stand a chance. Surrender yourself and I will let you die a painless death.” Eleanor looked at him as she uttered coldly.
”You’re the one who assassinated my mother! It was you!” Chuck was enraged.
”Yes, I was the one who killed her. I forced your mother into the stream and watched as the current washed her away. I deliberately pushed her car down, making it look like an accident. What can you do about it?” Eleanor smiled lightly. Chuck was not worth taking seriously.
”What can I do about it? Today, I am going to avenge my mother and get revenge on you for everything you have done! You should have never laid hands on the people I care about. Never!” Chuck’s vigor was intense. He was determined to get his revenge on that day.
