”You… How could you not have died?” Eleanor could not believe her eyes. She saw Karen die with her own eyes when Karen jumped into the rapid stream. Was it possible that Karen did not die from the current?
”Don’t you know that I can hold my breath in the water for more than 20 minutes?” Karen said lightly.
Only one person in the room knew that. And it was Yvette. Back when she first tried to assassinate Karen, she used a capsule poison on her. But who would have expected Karen to be absolutely unaffected by the poison and Yvette herself was the one who got poisoned. Since then, she learned a terrifying fact about Karen and that was Karen could hold her breath for twenty minutes.
”You! You intentionally jumped into the stream?” Eleanor was exasperated.
”Yes, back then, I had no choice but to jump.” Karen shrugged and strode over step by step.
”You have such wishful thinking! You really believed that you would survive despite the slim chance,” Eleanor sneered.
”That’s right, the odds are against me. However, surviving was not the main reason why I jumped.”
”What was your main motive?” Eleanor sneered.
”My son, Chucky. I want my son to improve by leaps and bounds so that he can inherit all of my inheritance. Therefore, I thought of this method. Chucky, please don’t blame me.” Karen was smirking. Her eyes were getting redder. She missed her family.
”Mom.” Chuck teared up. Karen sighed.
”Hmph, you’re just finding excuses for yourself. Back then, you had no choice but to jump.” Eleanor was fuming.
”No. Back then, jump or not jump, I could have survived regardless. I had no problem dealing with you.” Karen shrugged.
”Outrageous. You think I believe you? Back then you were beaten up so badly that you had to retreat a step at a time!”

”What? Really?” Eleanor was puzzled.
